I first came across Shoe Goo when Reebok running shoes were made in Lancashire and New Balance had recently introduced their first running shoe in the UK. In those days running 2,000+ miles a year on a low salary meant keeping running shoes for 800 - 1,000 miles, hence my interest in Shoe Goo. Now I still push off with my left toes and consequently my office and leisure shoes need re-soling quite regularly. The problem is that my Ecco shoes have a PU sole that cannot be adequately repaired.
I applied Shoe Goo to the Ecco shoes, and a pair of office shoes where the rubber re-sole had worn through to the leather sole underneath. I had first wiped the area with white spirit then roughened the surface. The 'Goo' leveled out well and left a shiny finish. I thought that the shiny finish would be slippery when walking but that didn't happen and the shiny finish soon disappeared. The Ecco shoes feel slightly different to walk in but I'm being really picky. It remains to be seen how long the applied 'Goo' will last, but there is plenty in the tube. I had thought that I clicked on the image of the clear and black tubes, but apparently I clicked on the clear tube, not that it's been a problem.

The Shoo Goo is an excellent adhesive for shoe soles and other items where fabric, plastic or leather has to be stuck firmly together with some flexibility. Shoo Goo is thick but can be squeezed out to provide a thin, clear and strong adhesive layer. So far none of the items I have used it on have come unstuck. These include a transparent tip attached to a clear acrylic heel on a ladies shoe and also the plastic sole of a man's shoe to the leather upper which had torn loose when a step was accidentally kicked.

I bought it to fix some hiking boots that I had. I found that it dried far too quickly to be able to work it properly into the cracks and holes in my boots. Once dried it became far too obvious that I'd put something onto the boot, and it very quickly started to peel off. For straight application between 2 surfaces that need to be stuck together it's great, but for fixing shoes or boots where the upper is coming away from the sole, I found that it didn't work quite so well.

I've used Shoo Goo in the past to build up the pronated heel of my running shoe.
Shoo Goo is now hard to find except in specialist running shoe outlets.
I wanted Shoo Goo to repair a cut to re-seal the air cavity in my walking shoes.
The repair was easy to do and works well.
