Smooth Sade September 6, 2010 K. Wright Sade's sixth album Soldier of Love encapsulates the classic Sade sound whilst also appealing to a more mainstream pop and R&B market.
The singles are some of the better tracks on the album, the survival themed "Soldier of Love" punctuated by a snare drum; my personal favourite, reggae tinged "Babyfather" and current single, laid back "The Moon and the Sky."
Other stand out tracks for me are "In Another Time" complete with saxophone solo and gentle goodbye song, "Skin."
Overall it is a lovely album to chill out to with sultry vocals, sombre yet uplifting lyrics and carefully crafted music. I would recommend this album to fans of Sade and those who enjoy quiet storm/ urban adult contemporary music.

This is the latest album from Sade, 10 years after her last, Lovers Rock. As a true Sade fan, this album was worth the wait. It follows her usual smooth style through out, but has a freshness about it that is definately 21st century. A must buy for Sade fans.

None of the songs stand out - we played it whilst driving through France and I didn't notice when it started from track 1 again. Which I think shows how bland the whole thing is; not unpleasant just bland.

This is one of those albums where you skip tracks waiting for a good one to come along - but it doesn't. After all these years of waiting I really thought thought Sade would come back really strong - but this whole album is a durge.
I wish I had saved my money.
Beautiful...haunting lyrics April 21, 2010 Bella (London) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Sade - timeless, elegant, beautiful.
The lyrics are haunting.
I was the one
I who could
Pull in all the stars above
Lay them on your feet
And I gave you my love
'cos you were the moon
And I the endless sky
You had the keys to the car
You had every star
Every one of them twinkling
Baby what were you thinking
We had the moon and the sky above
And I gave you my love
